San Antonio's first ASID
Hi Rise Condo Showcase took place
May 7 - May 15, 2010, at the
Vidorra Condominiums [215 North Center Street] in downtown San Antonio. The Showcase Chair,
Kelley Barnett, ASID, RID, from San Antonio and Co-Chair

Charitable beneficiaries included:

Design Guide Magazine was the event's Media Sponsor, and the Showcase will appear in the October issue of The Austin-San Antonio Design Guide Magazine.
The
Premiere Party took place the evening of
Friday, May 7 from 6:30pm until 9:00pm. Guests enjoyed delicious food, drinks, and music in the
20th Floor Penthouse and Sky Room, which was decorated with large live plants from
Plant Interscapes, fresh spring table linens and hydrangea centerpieces. Celebrity judges toured the rooms, making their "favorite" selections. Tours of the finished units on the 12th Floor capped off the evening.

ASID San Antonio Christmas Party

December's ASID San Antonio Design Community’s Christmas Party held at Silo's Restaurant banquet room was attended by practitioner members and Industry Partners. The long table was draped with shimmering olive green tablecloths, and down the center were pyracantha branches laden with red berries and long beaded tassels. Adorning the table were votive candles, oversized Christmas ornaments, little metal gold stars, and gift boxes covered in sequins and grosgrain fabric with bows. What more could one expect from three ASID interior designers!
Oscar Lupiba, the IP Rep from Lee Jofa/Kravet (pictured left), gave beautiful door prizes. The two very impressive design books were won by
Kelley Barnett, RID, ASID, and
Alan Petlin, IP Rep / Owner of Gourmet Floors.
Derrick Dodge, a former Texas Chapter President (pictured right), won the yards of beautiful Lee Jofa silk brocade. When last seen he had draped his newly acquired fabric around his shoulders, and had a big smile on his face.
Many thanks to Oscar Lupiba and the organizers of the event:
Robin Black, RID, ASID, IIDA,
Kelley Barnett and
Paula Orme, RID, ASID.
Ana Robles, Allied Member ASID, took marvelous pictures of the group.
At Kelley's suggestion, all toys, clothes, and other items for children brought by members to the party were donated to
Boys Town in San Antonio. Needless to say, they were overwhelmed with the quality and quantity.
